Last night was our last night performing in the Just For Laughs Festial and I just need to say a HUGE thank you to all of you.
Last night, during post-show cocktails on the terrace, I took a look around the table, at the cast, crew and photographers of the Candyass Club Cabaret, and felt an enormous sense of gratitude, pride, and contentment.
Despite the glitches on the web site, making ticket purchasing nearly impossible, and the labrynth one had to search for and follow in order to find our venue, the tent was consistantly packed during our run with Just For Laughs.
I feel so honoured, once again, for having shared the stage with such brilliant talent, and having shared the dressing rooms and backstage with such genuinely good people. It`s a magical thing when the cast of a show feels like family and I can`t even begin to describe how good that feels.
The love, the banter, the support, the ridicule, the encouragement, the laughter, the tears, the validation, the frustration, the joy, the mutual adoration, the motivation, the drinking companions, and the reason to come back and do it all over again, night after night.
Today I take a day of rest. Tomorrow the prepping, packing and rehearsing recomences. But That`s tomorrow…
Thank you again, to Just For Laughs (even though I`ve been ridiculing you for weeks on my blog), to our handlers and sound team, to the cast, the stage kittens, the stage manager, and to Velma Candyass for keeping us in line, which is no easy task, and to all the beautiful, fabulous, and fantastic people who came out to watch, listen, cheer us on, and inspire us to give you more and more and more.
